Quartzite
Quartzite gives you marble's looks with far more muscle. Veining runs from soft to dramatic, and the stone shrugs off heat and wear. Busy kitchens pick it when they want both.
How quartzite forms
One block at a time, straight from the quarry.
Quartzite starts as sandstone. Intense heat and pressure fuse the sand grains into nearly pure crystalline quartz.
The result is one of the hardest stones we stock. It resists heat and wear, barely soaks up water, and each block has its own color and movement.
